How did you become involved with CCLE? I attended my first conference in 2014 and was elected to the board. I’ve been heavily involved since then.

What do you think makes Classical education a unique and special experience for students and parents (whether homeschooling or in a traditional classroom setting)? Classical education seeks to preserve the past and implement it for the benefit of our future and for our neighbors. In a society obsessed with progress, classical education roots parents and students in the Western Christian tradition in order to teach families to be fruitful and passionate lifelong learners. Uniquely the students who come from classical Lutheran schools do not exist for their own end, but we learn for the benefit of others.

What would you say to encourage others to become involved with CCLE?  The CCLE is a group of compassionate and driven lifelong learners (pastors, teachers, professors, moms and dads, et al) who care about the past, present and future. No matter what you’ve learned or how in the past, it’s never too late to join in the noble endeavor of caring for the way our families are taught and learn.
