St. James Lutheran Classical Academy is a Kindergarten–8th grade school transitioning into a Christ-centered classical education model. Position Summary
St. James Lutheran School is seeking a junior high English teacher as well as a junior high math teacher who understand teaching as a Christian vocation, a calling to form both the minds and hearts of students. These positions may be filled by an LCMS rostered teacher, a candidate for a divine call, or an educator with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
Qualifications & Characteristics
The ideal candidate:
Holds (or is eligible for) a Bachelor’s degree in education and meets state licensure requirements
Is a committed Christian and active in a Lutheran congregation
Desires to teach within a classical Christian framework, including literacy, literature, grammar, and strong elementary mathematics
Finds joy in leading students in prayer, devotions, and daily faith formation
Demonstrates consistent participation in Word and Sacrament life
Applies Law and Gospel in guiding student behavior, relationships, and conflict resolution
Works collaboratively with pastors, administration, and fellow teachers
Builds strong, respectful partnerships with parents for both academic and spiritual growth
Communicates clearly and professionally in all school settings
Demonstrates strong classroom management, organization, and instructional skills
Is willing to participate fully in the life of the school, including events and activities
