Rev. Steve Kieser
Pastor Kieser is pastor and headmaster at Trinity Lutheran Church and Classical School of Riverton, Wyoming. He previously served as teacher and administrator at Lutheran schools in Florida, Illinois, and texas. He also served as pastor in Storm Lake, Iowa; Darmstadt, Indiana; and Plano, Texas.
Pastor Kieser graduated from Concordia – Ann Arbor in 1993 (Mathematics and Biology Education) and received a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Concordia – Chicago in 2000. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in 2006 and was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry that same year. He has served as the president of the Consortium for Classical Lutheran Education since 2006.
The Quadrivial Arts for Lutheran Schools
There are four quadrivial arts: Number, Geometry, Astronomy and Music. These four along with the three language arts comprise a unity called the "liberal arts." This session will consider the unity of the seven liberal arts and delve into the four quadrivial arts, the relationship they have with each other, and the relationship they have with the trivium. All teachers and administrators of lower and upper schools should find this helpful for curriculum and pedagogy.
