Graduated from Concordia University Nebraska in 1998 with a Bachelor of Education; Graduated from the University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign in 2019 with a Master’s in Business Administration. Served as Athletic Director and Middle School Teacher in Texas for 16 years.; Worked in the Financial world for 11 years; Returned to teaching in 2024; Currently serving as Athletic Director and teacher at Faith Lutheran School in Plano, TX. Married to Connie Telschow (Askins) in 2010 in Austin, TX. Connie passed away in October of 2023. Currently a widowed father if 5 children, ages 3 through 14, who attend Faith Lutheran School in Plano, TX. Member of Faith Lutheran Church in Plano, TX.

A Classical Perspective on Athletics in today's Modern World
How can we use this knowledge when we live in a modern world, where winning is viewed as success, and losing is failure? How can we lean on God’s examples and present ourselves in a manner that is pleasing to Him? We need to return to the understanding that learning and understanding athletics is the goal, and that winning and losing are part of the process, but not the purpose.
