Mr. Nathanael Hahn
Nathanael Hahn is a 5th–8th grade teacher at Trinity Lutheran School in Freistadt, WI. He earned his bachelor’s in mathematics from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2020, and since then has been dedicated to the pursuit of understanding classical, Christian mathematics education. He spent his first year as an educator at Peace Lutheran Academy in Sussex, teaching 3rd and 4th grade. In 2021 he moved out to Mount Hope Lutheran School in Casper, WY where he taught junior high and high school math, science, and music, as well as middle school choir. After five years in Wyoming, he moved back to his roots in Wisconsin to teach middle school math. Over the last several years Nathanael has spent time researching historical mathematics and reading primary math texts, continuing to work towards the future goal of assembling a full classical mathematics curriculum. He has done work producing math materials for the classroom, and he hosts a monthly online readings group focused on bringing together teachers interested in primary math sources. While not teaching or researching, Nathanael enjoys composing choral music and hymnody, engraving sheet music, analyzing films, playing board games, reading classic science fiction, solving math problems, and spending time with his family.
