Classical Exemplar Excellentiae Domi Award

Calling all classical Lutheran home educators!

The Board of the Consortium for Classical Lutheran Education is pleased to announce the launch of the Classical Exemplar Excellentiae Domi award for home educators. CCLE has established this award for CCLE members who homeschool their children in order to:

  • promote excellence in the practice and understanding of Classical Lutheran education
  • recognize and honor excellence in the performance of classical Lutheran homeschooling

The recipient of the Classical Exemplar Excellentiae Domi award will be officially recognized at our summer conference, CCLE XXII, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Eligibility and criteria for the Exemplar Excellentiae Domi award includes:

  • CCLE membership
  • Sincere commitment to Lutheran doctrine
  • Committed to and organized use of the trivium and quadrivium
  • Two or more years experience operating a classical homeschool (evidence)
  • Identification, description, and documentation of a specific practice including description of the outstanding practice and documentation of the outstanding practice (for example: video recording, example of assignments, student projects, photographs, etc.)
  • Transferability—how can other homeschools implement this practice

Call for Papers

CCLE XXII: July 5-8, 2022

Ad Fontes: Cultivating the Habits of Classical Lutheran Education

Calling all educators, pastors, administrators, and home educators! CCLE is planning its annual summer conference. CCLE XXII “Ad Fontes: Cultivating the Habits of Classical Lutheran Education” will be held at Redeemer Classical School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The dates for the conference are July 6-8, 2022, Wednesday to Friday with a pre-conference on Tuesday, July 5.

In addition to three plenary speakers, the annual conference includes sectional papers. The CCLE XXII Conference Committee invites paper/presentation proposals for consideration. Spaces for papers/presentations are limited. Presentations may align with the theme and should fit under one or more of the following headings:

  • Administration
  • Classroom management
  • Culture
  • Curriculum
  • Beauty and aesthetics of a classical Lutheran school
  • Classical pedagogy
  • Technology in the school
  • Classical Lutheran homeschooling
  • Higher education
  • Lutheran theology in classical Lutheran education
  • Transitioning to a Classical Lutheran School

Please submit paper/presentation topics to Anna Martin at executive.director@ccle.org by Monday, March 1, 2022. Conference registration will open mid-March.
